2 Day Climb & 5 Day Safari to Tarangire, Ngorongoro & Serengeti - With Flight
This safari itinerary is recommended for the discerning traveller visiting from July to October - as this is when the migration is expected to be in the Mara Region - and who wants to minimise wasted transiting time in the vehicle.
Arrival
30th January 2026: Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO).
Once you have completed customs formalities and collected your luggage, please exit the airport building and then look out for our driver who should be wearing a black Team Kilimanjaro t-shirt and carrying a placard with your name on it, who will be waiting under a shelter for you at the meeting point outside. Our driver will transfer you to The Outpost Lodge for your overnight stay.
Your safari guide will come to your hotel in Arusha for your pre-climb briefing at approximately 1800, during which he will introduce himself, brief you on everything that will be happening during the safari, and answer any questions you may have.
Safari
31st January 2026: Your safari guide will collect you from your hotel in Arusha at approximately 0730 to start your safari. Transfer from Arusha to Tarangire National Park for a game drives. Late afternoon transfer to Ngorongoro Crater Rim for overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge.
1st February 2026: Early morning descent into Crater for game drives in hopes of witnessing the Big 5. In Africa, the Big Five is made up of the lion, rhinoceros, leopard, elephant and Cape buffalo. All of these animals are viewable within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, including the crater and are protected thanks to the wildlife conservation efforts of Tanzania.
Afternoon transfer to the scenic Lake Ndutu region within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, renowned for its wildlife and sweeping landscapes. Upon arrival, you will be taken to TNS Lake Ndutu Luxury Tented Lodge, where you will enjoy your night’s stay in comfort and style.
2nd February 2026: Morning game drives in the Lake Ndutu region, exploring the area’s diverse wildlife. Later, transfer to the Seronera region of the Serengeti, with game drives en route, before arriving at Mawe’s Migration Camp for your overnight stay.
3rd February 2026: Begin the day with morning game drives in the heart of the Great Wildebeest Migration, with the exciting possibility of witnessing the dramatic Mara River crossing. After an unforgettable safari experience, continue on to Mawe’s Migration Camp, where you will spend the night surrounded by the sights and sounds of the Serengeti.
4th February 2026: Early morning game drive, followed by a transfer to Seronera Airstrip for your flight back to Arusha. Upon arrival, a driver will meet you at the airport and transfer you to The Outpost Lodge for your overnight stay.
Kilimanjaro
Your chief guide will come to your hotel for your pre-climb briefing at approximately 1800, during which he will introduce himself, brief you on everything that will be happening throughout the duration of the climb, check any kit that you may have concerns over, issue any kit hire items that have been requested and he will also deal with any final pre-climb administration and answer any questions you may have.
5th February 2026 – Shira 1 Camp
Today you will enjoy a scenic hike to Shira 1 Camp (3,504m). The trek takes around 2–3 hours at an easy pace, giving you time to acclimatise while taking in the dramatic landscapes of the Shira Plateau.
6th February 2026 – Shira Plateau Exploration & Descent
Embark on a rewarding hike across the Shira Plateau to Cathedral Point, where breathtaking panoramic views await. After taking in the stunning scenery, you will descend and return to your hotel for a well-deserved rest.

Departure
7th February 2026: You are required to check out of your hotel by late morning. However, if you desire to explore the town for the day, you can leave your bags with the reception and continue to utilise the hotel's facilities. Inform us if you require a guide or want to arrange any special activities for the day.
Ensure you are prepared for your airport transfer at least 3 hours before departure to allow ample time for check-in. Your flight, TBA, is scheduled to depart from JRO.
