Tanzania Safaris
Tanzania is one of the most diverse wildlife regions on earth. The northern circuit alone offers open savannahs, dense woodlands, volcanic highlands, soda lakes, and ancient cultures β often within a short drive of one another. Each park is distinct, each has its own character and rhythm, and each reveals a different facet of creation.
Below is a concise introduction to the main regions in which we operate. These are not exhaustive explanations, merely a starting point for shaping your own personalised itinerary.
Serengeti National Park
The Serengeti is one of the most remarkable ecosystems in the world β vast, ancient, and filled with movement. It is the home of the Great Migration, immense lion prides, swift cheetahs, and the haunting stillness of open plains. The scale can be overwhelming on first encounter. It remains a place where the natural world still functions on its own terms, without interference.
Ngorongoro Crater
The Ngorongoro Crater is an amphitheatre of wildlife unlike anything else on earth. Formed by the collapse of an ancient volcano, it shelters an extraordinary density of animals, including large tusker elephants, black rhinoceros, and vast herds of buffalo and wildebeest. Descending into the crater is often a highlight for first-time visitors.
Tarangire National Park
Tarangire is a quiet favourite: golden savannahs, massive baobabs, and a concentration of elephants that is unmatched in northern Tanzania. During the dry season, the Tarangire River becomes a lifeline for countless species, creating some of the most picturesque and peaceful scenes in the region.
Lake Manyara National Park
A compact park set beneath towering cliffs, Manyara is known for its lush groundwater forest, soda lake, birdlife, and the occasional tree-climbing lion. It is an excellent introduction to the diversity of Tanzaniaβs habitats and a refreshing contrast to the larger parks.
Rift Valley & Active Adventures
For guests seeking something more adventurous, the Great Rift Valley offers dramatic landscapes, volcanic terrain, and the possibility of climbing Ol Doinyo Lengai β the only active natrocarbonatite volcano in the world. This region also provides opportunities to meet traditional bushman communities who maintain subsistence lifestyles linked to the land.
Crafting Your Itinerary
These regions can be combined in various ways depending on your interests, preferred pace, and the time you have available. Our role is to advise realistically, shape each day intelligently, and adapt the experience to what you enjoy most.
